Personal information collected on this website
If you request information from the Institute for Independent Business (the "Institute") for information, we need certain information about you in order to process your request.
This means not only your name and email address, but also possibly your address and contact details (e.g. if you want us to send you information).
We take privacy and data protection very seriously. Please note that:
- the use of any information you provide will be limited to the purpose for us to assess your suitability, and to contact you;
- we will only keep your details for as long as is necessary to provide you with information or contact you during your application. Where you require us to keep your information we will only do so where you have given us your prior agreement to do so;
- we do not under any circumstances provide any personal data or any information about you to any third party whatsoever, except in the unlikely event that the Institute is required to release such information by law;
- we will not use your information ourselves for marketing purposes unless you have given us your prior agreement to do so (e.g. where you have requested us to keep you informed of the Institute's future developments etc);
- we do not collect or sell any name and details to any third parties. We do not collect your details when you use our website except where expressly and clearly indicated (i.e., submission of your CVs to us or a request for information by means of an online form).
Cookies
A Cookie is a small file created on your PC by a web server application, used (for example) to identify you or your personal preferences. The Institute does not use cookies or spyware on this website.
User Statistics
We do keep unidentified statistics on how many visitors read specific pages and details on times and dates of visits and time taken to view pages in order
to improve our website. This data does not however track your use of the website nor does it identify you.
Copyright and information available on this website
Permission to use information and documents (including but not limited to documents, frequently asked questions, information about the Institute and its operations, resources and press releases, hereinafter referred to as 'Information') from this web site is granted, provided that:
- Any copyright notice (e.g. that of the Institute) that appears is retained (including on any copies), and the Institute is quoted as the author;
- Use of such Information is for information purposes only and for your personal or non-commercial use;
- Information must not be copied or located on any website, bulletin board, network computer or published in any media, and no modification of any Information may be made without the express written permission of the Institute.
The Institute and its suppliers make no representations about the suitability of the Information published on this website which is of a general nature. In all cases we enter into personal interviews with applicants to assess the suitability of any individual.
Associates - by Associates for Associates
Associate generated content information or activity within the network of Associates is (by Associates for Associates). The IIB helps to facilitate the international network of Associates but any activity carried out therein is not for or on behalf of the Institute for Independent Business.
Associates accredited by the Institute are are independent and do not represent the IIB. Many independent Associate websites are available and searchable on the internet (world wide web) and may be of interest to visitors as a resource to see what Associate activity is like. An example of Associate collaborative work is how Associates work together on a local or regional basis.
A general signpost website to various IIB and Associate resources is run by the Institute that may be of interest to visitors. Associate resources such as websites and brochures are not produced by the Institute and therefore do not necessarily represent the view of the Institute.
IIB Intellectual Property
Associates may use, within certain limitations, the Institute's "IIB" logo, as a mark of accreditation. Further information about Associate Use of IIB Intellectual Property.
